Seven Secrets To Having More Fun At Disney World

Posted by: freegamesforgirls on: February 5, 2010

Many kids have one important wish and desire, and that is to visit Disney world. Regardless of whether you experience this vacation wonderland as a child or as an adult, there are several things you can do to maximize the fun and minimize the expenses. Let’s find out how to work a little magic.

1. Protect your health while you travel. Disney world is located in the sunshine state of Florida, so you can expect to have to contend with lots sunshine, harmful sunrays, and warm ( I mean hot) weather. Be sure to pack your sunscreen, sun glasses, and hats. And once you are there, remember to drink plenty of water. With regards to health, there are other concerns as well, such as motion sickness. If you or your child suffer from motion sickness, just say “no” to the wilder rides.

2. Beware of Souvenir Madness. Even the most frugal Disney visitor will surely buy some souvenirs to remind him of his Disney vacation long after he returns home. But its easy to get carried away and go way over board. So we recommend that you agree in advance on a “family souvenir budget” and then be sure to stick to it. Get the kids involved too, so that they know in advance what the limits are, and that they are expected to help stay within the family budget.

3. Minimize Snacking At the Parks. The quickest way to blow your budget is buy buying snacks on-site. The costs of pop corn and ice cream skyrocket once you enter the parks. To avoid spending unnecessary money on on-site snacks, try buying your snacks in advance and agreeing to an itinerary before entering the park. Once everyone has agreed upon the time for the “snack break”, it’s easy to just enjoy all the rides until the “snack time” arrives and then head out for quick snack.

4. Stay at Non-Disney Hotels. Staying off-site can reduce your accommodation expenses considerably. In addition to saving on hotel expenses, you also save on off-site food which would include breakfasts and lunches. This can quickly add up to tremendous savings.

5. Avoid Major Holidays. This may seem logical, but it needs to be specifically mentioned. The top peak seasons when Disney is busiest is from Christmas through New Years day, as well as during spring breaks and Easter weekends. If at all possible, you should avoid visiting Disney during these periods. On the other hand, the best time to visit Disney is after the thanksgiving weekend until Christmas, the second week of January through the first half of February, or the week after Easter until early June. With a little planning on your part, the lines wont be that long after all.

6. Get to the parks Extra Early. You may be surprised to know that the theme parks open about 30 minutes earlier than the “official” opening time. This means that if you get to the parks about one hour before the official opening time, you are at a major advantage above the other visitors. You may be able to enjoy four rides in about one hour if you get a early head start. The same four rides may well require three hours “waiting time” if you arrive later.

7. Plan, Plan Plan! The best way to really enjoy Disney world and get the best value for you money is to plan in advance what you want to do and see. The less time you spend waiting in lines or trying to figure out what to do next, the more fun you will have and the more value you will get for your money!

Therefore, be sure to use these 7 easy secrets and get ready to enjoy a “magical” vacation!

Although referred to as three parks in one sometimes the Olympic National Park is really just one park that encompasses several ecosystems. The three ecosystems that divide the park are the rainforest, Olympic mountains, and the Pacific coastline. Olympic National Park is located in the upper northwestern corner of the state in an area known as the Olympic Peninsula.

The park is very interesting to visit because of its location and its three different ecosystems, but also because there are species there that are not anywhere else on earth. The reason why is the mountain range closes the peninsula off from the rest of the land and certain species evolved here that did not elsewhere. The park is a biological reserve and it is studied on a regular basis to better understand what makes the park so special and how animals evolved here.

Tourists love the Olympic National Park because of the beauty, nature, and outdoor sports like hiking and backpacking. It is especially cool to backpack along the beach for several days. This is no problem because the coastline is very long and provides the perfect place for backpackers to trek through the natural beauty. Hurricane Ridge is a great place within the park to visit during the winter months for the Nordic and alpine skiing.

There are several roads on the peninsula, but none of them make it into the depths of the peninsula rendering much of it wilderness that may only be explored on foot. Because of this visiting the park for a brief time will not do it justice. So, plan a couple days or at the very least one full day to dedicate to exploring the beauty of Olympic National Park.

Some of the best things to do in the park, for those who don’t know, include the following. Doing these activities will ensure you get the best of the park. You should definitely climb all 7,965 feet of Mt. Olympus. Also, backpack the 57 miles of coast and raft the rivers. Hike the Grand Ridge Trail that is above the tree line and provides unbelievable views from a very precarious trail. Sea kayak the coast of the park, soak in the hot springs, and watch the salmon migrate. If you can fit all of these activities into your vacation to the park then you will certainly get the best experience possible.

Posted by: freegamesforgirls on: January 27, 2010

Auckland may not be New Zealands capital that distinction going to Wellington but it is the countries largest city. There are 48 volcanic cones and more than 50 islands in the Auckland region and that is why 1 million people call this area their home. It is the largest city in New Zealand claiming one third of the entire population of the country.

Despite Aucklands urban sprawl, the major tourist sites are situated around the city centre, while those that are further a field can be reached by public transport, the Explorer Bus, which links many of the attractions, public transport or a hire car. The city centre is easily explored on foot.

Not only is Auckland close to the beaches but it is also close to over twelve different Islands. The Auckland lifestyle is ranked among the best in the world. It is one of the best cities to visit and one of the best to live in.

Why We Want Cheap Flights To New Delhi ?

Posted by: freegamesforgirls on: January 24, 2010

When you see an ad for a cheap flight to Delhi, you should take advantage of the savings to have a wonderful holiday. Delhi is the capital of India and as such is one of the most wondrous cities of the world. Not only is the city a beehive of activity, but also a cheap flight to Delhi will place you in a location from which you can easily travel to other parts of the country, such as the Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and locations in North Central India.

Even though you might want to take advantage of a cheap flight to India, you really should spend some time in the city exploring the many impressive attractions. Explore ancient fortresses and majestic ruins where you can discover the history of this exciting and exotic India country. Here you will find a blend of the past and the present. Many dynasties have ruled this country through its lengthy and sometimes stormy history. The city of Delhi was destroyed on seven different occasions and has been rebuilt better each time. The many monuments throughout the city detail the pain and sorrow suffered by the people and stand as a testament to the past.

Forts and Monuments

A cheap flight to Delhi offers the opportunity to visit the forts and monuments of the city. There are so many sights to see in this great city that it is only possible to list a few of them.

Visit what some believe to be the predecessor of the Taj Mahal at Humayun’s Tomb. This monument, built of red sandstone by Haji Begum, the wife of Humayun, dates back to the mid 1500’s. It is one of the best examples of Mughal architecture in all of India. On the way to this tomb, you can also visit a mosque, called the Nizam-Ud-Din Shrine. Inside you will see a tank surrounded by tombs, but most importantly, it is the location of the famous Sufi saint for which the shrine is named.

Even if you don’t plan a layover as part of the itinerary of your cheap flight to Delhi, but have a few hours to wait, you will be able to visit the Safdarjung Tomb, as it is located quite close to the airport. This monument tells the story of a dying empire as the Nawab of Avadh built it for his father. It dates back to the mid-1700’s and lies in the middle of a garden spanning more than 300 square meters.

A must see when you do get a chance to fly to Delhi on a cheap flight is the Red Fort. This impressive fort has a perimeter of more than 3km, and the height of the wall ranges from 18 to 30 meters in places. During the evenings, you can enjoy a light and sound show that will give you a eyefull into the history of Delhi and the part the fort played in that history. The Lahore Gate is the site from which the prime Minister addresses the people on August 15 of each year. Just inside the gate there is a indian market called bazaar, where there is a shopping plaza with many types of items for sale.

The Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India and dates back to its completion in 1658. This mosque has four towers and two minarets that are 40 meters high. From the top of these minarets, you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the entire city of Delhi.

Visit the Rose Garden located in the Chanakya Puri section of the city. Here you will see many rare rose varieties. However, the best time to see the roses in bloom is during the months of December and January. If you are a lover of flowers and want to visit the many botanical gardens of Delhi, you should look for cheap flights for this time of the year.

Getting Around Delhi

Although you might save a lot of money with a cheap flight to Delhi, if you are not used to this city, you shouldn’t try to save money by renting a car. Take advantage of the many ways to travel in Delhi worry free. There are rickshaws or taxis available at the Delhi airport that will take you to your hotel. As soon as you clear customs, there will be many porters offering to carry your bags for you. You can arrange with the hotel where you make reservations to have someone meet you at the airport. If this is so, that person will have a sign bearing your name so that you can identify him. Check at the counter to arrange a taxi, as most of them have established rates from the airport into the city.

When traveling about the city, the hotel can arrange a taxi for you. Delhi is also a city of the rickshaw – a three-wheeled vehicle that is usually about half the price you would pay for a taxi. There is also a bus service that runs from the airport to the center of the city.

Enjoy your visit to Delhi, but remember that this is a big city where you do have to be careful of your belongings.

Self-Catering Holidays: The Hottest Way to Travel

Posted by: freegamesforgirls on: January 23, 2010

Even if “self-catering” is an unfamiliar term to you, you may at least be familiar with the concept. The idea became mainstream in the 2006 movie “The Holiday,” however; self-catered travelling has actually been around in one form or another for decades.

Thanks in large part to the Internet’s ability to considerably shrink geographical distances and make communication and the trading of services faster and easier, self-catered vacations have seen a tremendous surge in popularity in the last decade. Tourists who choose this style of travel forego the tradition of making vacation arrangements through a travel agent, who would normally perform services like booking a hotel, reserving a sight-seeing package, etc.

Instead, travelers book accommodations directly from a private owner or from a specialist villa holiday company who will put vacationers up in a home or condominium/apartment. As often than not, vacationers find their contacts through an Internet listing.

So why is the self-catered holiday the new ticket to a great vacation? The trend continues to catch fire with travellers worldwide for a number of reasons, including:

* Flexibility: Dealing directly with a private owner often means travelers get a better pick of travel dates. It’s also easier to negotiate deals when it comes to length of stay, inclusiveness of a package and other things that wouldn’t be possible with a hotel stay. It’s also a great way to accommodate large families or groups of travelers without having to separate groups.

* Privacy: Choosing self-catered accommodations means not having to worry about nosy neighbors in close proximity or the sound of the ice machine down the hall at 2:00 am. Your accommodations are yours and yours alone. You also get a much more “homey” feeling than you might with a hotel room.

* Freedom: There’s no need to worry about meal schedules because you’re cooking for yourself, or you can simply choose a local restaurant at your own convenient time.

* Cost efficiency: This is one of the biggest reasons that travellers choose self-catered holidays. Dealing with a private owner almost always means you get a better rate than you would in a hotel. Places such as Mallorca, where many of the best hotels are close to the coast, travelers will pay a prime rate for beachfront property. However, if you go inland to a self-catered private home or condominium, you’re much more likely to find a better rate; without having to sacrifice quality. Chances are, you’ll still be only minutes from major amenities, shopping and sightseeing destinations.

Since your accommodation includes a kitchen facility, you have the option of saving money by cooking at least some of your own meals during your stay. Even if you choose to eat out, you’ll probably be paying less for meals than you would at a hotel restaurant or with room service. Sometimes you can negotiate a better rate with a private owner, especially if you plan to stay for an extended period of time (a week or more). Plus, you get an entire residence for the duration of your stay rather than just one or two rooms and a restroom.

And don’t think that your choices are limited just because you’re choosing a non-traditional hotel vacation. There are self-catered accommodations all over the world with added features like a swimming pool, home gym, games room, entertainment center and many extras. Whatever kind of vacation you want, you’re sure to find accommodations that suit your desires.

Just what kind of impact self-catered holidays are having on the hotel and hospitality industry is difficult to determine. The hotel industry in Spain continues to grow, despite the rising number of travellers who are choosing self-catered accommodations.

However, since the number of vacationers who have opted out of hotel stays for their holidays has also grown over the last several years, it may be a safe assumption that the tourism industry in Spain as a whole is growing. In fact, it’s quite possible that the number of recreational tourists in Spain is on the rise because vacationers have so many options when it comes to accommodation and more people can now afford to travel than ever before. Whatever the case, it appears that self-catered holidays will continue to be a desirable and affordable way to travel and the tourism industry will be benefitted, rather than hurt, by this trend.
